Weekend in the Mountains

We went to visit our friends Gay and Bill at their mountain home this weekend. It is near Helen GA. Their 2 year old granddaughter, Charlotte was also with us.

On Saturday we tried to go to Anna Ruby Falls to see the waterfall but the road was closed because of the cold weather and possibility of snow or ice. We briefly walked around Helen but that was short lived because Charlotte's coat was forgotten at the cabin. Everywhere we did go people assumed that Charlotte was our child and we were 3 generations of a family. But if you paid much attention, Charlotte was not let me hold her for very long and much preferred her grandparents.

Sunday after church we visited Babyland General Hospital (Cabbage Patch Kids Headquarters) They still sell the original handmade dolls at the store and you can tour some of the history and lore of the Cabbage Patch Kids. The original dolls take 50 hours to make and can be adopted for $150-300 dollars. The gift shop sells the more common versions. We forgot our cameras the first time so after returning to the cabin to let Charlotte take a nap. Bob and I returned with camera in tow and took lots of pictures. we also successfully visited Anna Ruby Falls and walked around Helen some more by ourselves. We had a nice mini vacation.
